A friend of mine was so impressed when he met our mayor for
the first time. He told me that the mayor was nothing like the
person that he had learned about through the media and some other
sources.

The media is seldom complimentary of our public officials.
The only time they appear to be respectful is when they are face
to face in a public forum. They consider it bad press to praise
or be complimentary. But they have no hesitation to be
suspicious, cynical and degrading of individuals on the radio,
