A friend who taught in public school explained her frustration at not being allowed to mention any religious holidays: although all of the children in her class were either Jewish or Christian, all discussion of religion was forbidden. At last she discovered a way around this regulation. "I introduce the possibilities of faith and belief by way of literature," she said, "thinly veiled. The children know what we are talking about." -- Winifred
