Emphasis Preaching Journal

A girl of sixteen, the oldest in a large, motherless family, lay dying. She had spent her childhood carrying the heavy load of "mother" to her younger brothers and sisters. She, literally, had worked herself to death, and now, was dying of tuberculosis. A visitor from a neighborhood congregation asked her if she had been confirmed and had united with the church.
