Glendon Harris reported a story from The New York Times (April 5, 1972). On April 4, 1972, nearly 3,000 persons crowded into Philharmonic Hall at the Lincoln Center in New York City. They went there to greet Charlie Chaplin. Chaplin was then 82 years old. He had achieved recognition as a great comedian and earned great wealth.
