A good story retold
Commentary
The movie Jesus of Montreal (1989) pictures young actors working to revitalize a passion play. The actor assigned to write and produce the play goes about gathering other actors who will play opposite him. He finds them on the fringes of society, among modern tax collectors, prostitutes, and sinners, and forms them into a band of disciples who begin, in uncanny ways, to live out the story they are to portray. Their lives eventually duplicate their play.
