Emphasis Preaching Journal

Hanging on the door of my church office is a castoff cardboard lamb. One day I found the forlorn lamb residing in the kitchen of our church. All the other cardboard lambs had been taken home by attentive children following Sunday school class. All except this little lost lamb whose tiny tot owner had forgotten it. I decided to retrieve the lamb from an early exit to the garbage can. Several months later the lamb hangs on the door as a sign of welcome to all the folks to whom I have been called to pastor with compassionate ministry.
