The Hopi people of the Northern Arizona mesas have faced many challenges to their traditions and culture over the last century. Some of these come from the encroachment of Western civilization and technology. Some challenges come from within their own body as various Hopi communities have preserved or adopted rituals and ceremonies that differ from the others. But there are threads that hold Hopi religious life together.
