A housekeeper for a wealthy family was the frequent confidant for the children in that home. She made herself approachable and was often available for conversation, story--telling, hugs, and binding up bruised hearts when the parents of those children were not around. But the youngsters, who came frequently and eagerly to talk with her about anything and everything, came to realize that there was one time of the day when they were not welcome in her presence. That was when the evening meal was past and the dishes awaited in the sink.
