Emphasis Preaching Journal

I once knew a minister who was preoccupied with presenting his credentials. When one listened to the man and reflected on his behavior, it became immediately obvious that he felt anything but credentialed. In fact, the more one talks about outside credentials the more we can be sure they haven't internalized them. This man would brag about his office, brag about his church's educational wing and brag about his associations. He moved from being a messenger to being the message! And that message wasn't word of what God has done in Jesus Christ.
