If you have not recently seen the Academy Award winning film, Chariots of Fire, the passage in 2 Kings 2 may inspire you to do so. In 1919 Eric Liddell, a Scottish Christian, and Harold Abrahams, an English Jew, entered Caius (pronounce "Keys") College Cambridge. The rivalry which emerged between them personally was on the race course. The rivalry which was manufactured between them by the college was around issues of tradition and religion. The tensions between the two rivalries create the dynamic drama of the film.
