It costs something to be...

It costs something to be a follower of Jesus. It is not easy and therefore it is not for everybody. On the other hand, if discipleship were a "piece of cake," so to speak, with no standards and guidance for good living, it would have disappeared centuries ago as just another passing fad. The fact remains, that like seed falling to the ground, only a small percentage finds good ground and grows into anything productive. If following Jesus does not influence our relationships, priorities, politics -- in fact, all of life's decisions, then it is not the faith of Jesus. Christ's way is not always our way. There are times when discipleship will seem to be the way of losers. But, as we see the glory of Easter approaching, we can begin to appreciate also that because Jesus chose to be a "loser" and died on the cross, we are made "winners" forever.
