It has been said that...

It has been said that sin as a caterpiller is dangerous, but that sin as a butterfly is a thousand times worse. In other words, when evil appears in its ugliest form it is still evil, but when evil appears in a beautiful form, it is many times more dangerous because of its appeal.
Isaiah asks the question that is such a mystery: why do we, who have been created in God‚--ôs image, harden our heart to him? We are the beautiful work of his hands, the clay he has shaped like a potter shapes a beautiful vase. Yet we do not fear him, respect him, or even pay attention to him.
Isaiah‚--ôs plea is that we acknowledge that we are indeed creations of the Creator, children of the Father. Whatever glory, whatever beauty we have comes from our Lord. When we give him the glory, he makes us beautiful. But if we refuse to acknowledge our Father and Creator as Lord, we are only the ugliness of sin dressed up like a butterfly.
