It has often been joked that the so-called "New Morality" is just the old immorality condoned. What, really, does it take to be a righteous, moral person today? Is the righteous person the type who "goes by the book," calls a spade a spade, and never changes moral positions or compromises in the face of ambiguity? Is it the person who says, "It was a sin in my grandpa's day; it was a sin in my father's day; and it's still a sin today"?
