It was the bottom of the ninth inning. The home team was one run down. There were two men out. The bases were loaded. It was the seventh game of a seven-game series. A little-used pinch hitter stepped to the plate against a relief pitcher who had been called on to get this last out. These are things straight from Hollywood and the movies. But in 1992 it was indeed the scenario that was played out in Atlanta as Atlanta and Pittsburgh battled for the National League Pennant. There were no tomorrows, the winner of this game would win the National League Pennant and go on to the World Series.
