It was a stunning defeat! The citizens of the district had decided that enough was enough. They were tired of the poor conditions in their district, the bad decisions made by those in office, the general corruption. A few wealthy officials had ruled this district to their own advantage and the average person had suffered tremendously. The campaign was low key but effective. There was no money for slick television spots for their candidates. So they canvassed the district, going door to door, telling each person about their candidates' goals and plans.
