It's clear that Amos...

It's clear that Amos was a prophet to be reckoned with, because of the influence of his message. He was willing to proclaim the Word of the Lord, in the face of opposition. Amos reminds me of a friend of mine, a black minister assigned to a predominantly white parish, who lived out his belief in the total equality of all human beings. It wasn't always easy for him, but he knew that going into the situation. He did, however, develop an effective style of ministry in the midst of opposition.
