Jesus knew the importance of storytelling as a way to convey great truths. Some of his parables were so vividly presented that people, to this day, are convinced that the events actually happened! A thousand years before Jesus, a Greek philosopher named Aesop used stories or “fables” to impress important moral teachings upon people. In primitive days, stories that could be passed from one group to another or from parents to children were the means of preserving religious, moral, and historical information.
