Jim had never been one to keep his mouth shut, and this morning was no exception. As the Speaker of the House called the session to order, Jim stood and asked to be recognized, realizing he was about to risk not only reelection but support from his colleagues during the rest of his current term as well. But those were risks he had to take; he couldn't keep silent in the face of policies that were destroying lives and widening the gap between the rich and the poor in a country that professed the equality of its citizens.
