The late Bishop Gerald Kennedy told of a young couple who were just beginning their marriage. Like so many of us, they were short on money and had agreed to relieve the pressure on their budget by promising not to buy any additional clothing.
The husband was disturbed, therefore, when his wife came home one day with a new party dress. " But, my dear," he complained, "you promised you were not going to buy any more dresses."
"I know," she replied, "but the devil tempted me."
