These months will likely be dominated politically by the upcoming elections and their aftermath. At press time for our column it appears that the overriding issue in the background of all the contests (at the federal, state, and even local level) will be our reaction for and against the government programs of the Obama administration and Congress to get us out of the recession, handling the BP oil spill, as well as legislation pertaining to care for the sick and poor. Going into the election, it seems, most Americans think we are going about matters in the wrong way.
