"Light is the first-born of creation. Without light there is no creation ...." Probably one of the better remembered phrases from a campaign speech in recent years referred to "a thousand points of light." When then-candidate for president, George Bush, spoke that line no one knew where it had come from, or how it might be brought about, and Bush did not elaborate on that. But in one sense, Bush had the right idea -- in the sense of "this little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine." From creation, light has been what puts limits on the darkness of chaos.
