Louis was about 45 years old when we knew him. He had suffered infantile paralysis as a child and had learned to get around on a special wheelchair. It had a contrived lever Louis would pushpull with both arms/hands; it was connected to the wheels so Louis could make his cart go. He could also steer with that lever. Louis would be squatted down on the floor or sidewalk, and with his hands grab his two feet and make them walk. Thus his arm muscles and hand grip became powerfully strong.
