In baseball a triple threat is a player that can hit, catch, and throw. In football the triple threat is the player who can pass, catch, and run. The author of Hebrews tells us that Jesus is a "triple threat" as the High Priest of God. He saves those who come to God. He pleads with God on our behalf and he meets our needs.

In sports you need a triple threat to win a game. With Jesus you do not win a game. Our Lord did not offer himself as a sacrifice for some cosmic game. With Jesus as our High Priest, we win life.
