"... for the common good."
In this heyday of the Pepsi generation, with its emphasis on feeling good, a theme which has made its way into some of our churches, it is worth underlining Paul's contention that ecstasy is not enough to prove that one is moved by the Holy Spirit. Genuine encounter with God has constructive consequences, the Apostle declares. Jonathan Edwards described these as the reformation of character and merciful deeds.
