The management of a certain department store had a great deal of difficulty with one of their emergency-exit doors. This door was not supposed to be used except in an emergency, and was not only wired with an alarm, but displayed a large sign saying, "Emergency Exit Only -- Alarm Will Sound." Yet even so, that alarm would go off several times a day, as disobedient customers made unauthorized exits.

Finally, a security guard happened upon a solution that worked. He taped up on the door a large, hand-lettered sign that solved the problem completely.
