Many wise people claim that the only thing worse than not getting what we want is to get it. We know how to persevere, to keep on "just one more time." But, when we get what we want, the driving purpose falls out of life. There is no need to try one more time. What then? We are left with victory. To accept the consequences of victory demands of us radical change.
