In more than one love...
Illustration
In more than one love story, when things have not turned out the way the lovers had first planned or wished or hoped, the relationship ends (usually on a dark night with moonlight and some violins), the one saying tenderly to the other, "No regrets?" The only possible reply, of course, is "No regrets." They cry. They kiss. They disappear into the mist forever, never meeting afterwards, except briefly by chance or accident. Our hearts are tugged, because (whether they felt "regret" or not) we feel regret, frustration, and deep melancholy for the two of them. "It might have been."
