The movie The Age of...

The movie The Age of Innocence, based on the novel of the same name by Edith Wharton, received rave reviews as an art piece. Whether theatergoers who saw it agreed it was worth watching for two and a half hours is another question. However, the story is well told as to how people struggled with the mores of another generation. That story line is unfolded carefully and methodically. One of the central characters in the drama is Ellen Olenska, an American married to a Russian count but separated from him.
