Nature never ceases to amaze me. In the normal course of things, nature is predictable and helpful: seasons change, the sun shines, rain falls, winter freezes, spring thaws, seeds are planted, crops grow, people are born, and people die ... and the cycle continues. All of that is amazing in and of itself, but when the powerful forces take a turn we don't expect, lives are changed in an instant. Tornados lift up houses and destroy lives. Volcanoes spew forth ash and lava. Blizzards isolate people from the necessities of life.
