On the northwest shores of the Sea of Galilee there is a grassy bit of land that juts out into the water. It is flat and wide. Seven springs flow into the sea from this spot. It is called Tabgha because the Hebrews mis-pronounced the difficult Greek word, Heptapegon, "seven springs." Tradition has it that in this wide-open and pleasant place Jesus celebrated the miracle of the two fish and five barley loaves.
