One of the findings of the Church Growth Movement is that members attract like members. That is, people are naturally drawn to congregations whose members are similar to themselves. Some church leaders object to the implications of this discovery, insisting that the church, as the body of Christ, is called on to include all sorts of folk. For Paul, the question was not homogeneity versus diversity, but how he might "become all things to all people, that I might by all means save some." Some years ago a pastor helped a prostitute turn her life around through Christ.
