Pentecost empowered the disciples to go into all the world with courage and power. I remember when I was a child and missionaries used to come to our church and talk about all of the exotic places in which they were witnessing for Jesus Christ.

In the church where I grew up the women's circle of which my mother was a member was called the Sadie Maude Moore Circle. Moore was a famous missionary to China. I remember how excited everyone was when this little old lady came to our church to speak one Sunday. We'd all heard Sadie Maude Moore stories.
