Commentary
Sometimes you will hear someone making great protestations about the ways in which they are persecuted. It seems they wish to paint themselves as the long-suffering ones who deserve God's notice and approval. The point that needs to be made as a checkpoint about persecution is that Jesus declares that those who are blessed are those persecuted for righteousness sake (Matthew 5) and those persecuted for his sake.
