Power, prestige and money -- the three great temptations of our day. The newspapers remind us daily of the lengths women and men will go to to achieve power, prestige and wealth.
A child steals from the parent's wallet; a local store is broken into and the cash box looted; a gas station attendant is murdered during a robbery; the small branch bank in the neighborhood is robbed in the middle of the day. Instant wealth is the motivating factor in all these events. The school bully terrorizes the younger children; a child is abused by the parent; a wife is brutally beaten by her husband; gang violence breaks out in a large urban area. Power is the driving force behind these events. A student plagiarizes a major paper; a college student cheats on an important examination for entrance to a renowned graduate school; a corporate manager undermines the reputation of a colleague to his/her own advantage; a business executive falsifies information to get a promotion. Prestige impels these individuals to lie and cheat.
