Emphasis Preaching Journal

Several of us seniors at the seminary were swapping tales about our experiences as interns the preceding year. The conversation focused on preparing sermons. Linda told of the long hours she put into sermon preparation. She translated the texts, did word studies, read the commentaries, and read pertinent sections in various books. Then she outlined her sermon, thought of stories to help get the message across, and spent hours writing and polishing.
