She had begun to wonder...
Illustration
She had begun to wonder if the struggle was worth it. She had never thought of herself as a martyr and didn't have any intention of becoming one. But it seemed that circumstances might not leave her any other choice -- unless, of course, she chose to give up altogether. And if she did that, what reason did she have to live? Which was better, she wondered, to die for the justice in which she vehemently believed or to give up, live with the injustice against which she had fought for so long, and in the process die inside?
