A six-year-old boy saved his mother from an assailant by bluffing him with an empty rifle. The Oklahoma boy responded quickly, when his mother was threatened, by running for the weapon and then not taking time even to load it. Afterward he explained he didn't know how to load it, although he had fired it a few times. "But I knew he wouldn't know that," the boy said.

"Turn my mommy loose or I'm gonna shoot you," he warned. When the man told him to put the rifle down, he responded by cocking it, and the man ran away.
