St. Luke's was once a vital growing congregation, but now it struggled just to keep the lights on and the door open. The economy of the little town was such that most of the young people had moved away hoping to find work elsewhere. For more than a year the small congregation had looked for a pastor. Finally it was sent a young woman freshly out of seminary.
