The story is told of a woodsman who visited a friend in a large city. As they walked down a busy street -- the noise of traffic and business around them -- the man from the country suddenly said, "Why, I hear a cricket."

"That's nonsense," laughed the man from the city. "In this uproar? Not a chance."

"I'll show you," said the other man. With that, he took a quarter from his pocket, dropped it on the sidewalk, and everyone within thirty feet stopped to see whose coin had dropped.
