We are reminded in these passages that the testimonies of the early mothers and fathers of the faith were eyewitness accounts. They were with Jesus at the baptism; they were with him on the Mountain of Transfiguration. Those things we have seen and heard from our own experience become the things that mean the most to us. I will never forget a dear saint in my church who experienced such declining health that she was forced to move to another state to be with her grown children.
