What if Simon and Andrew had kept on fishing? Would Jesus have come back? What was it about these two that caused Jesus to ask them rather than someone else? Why did they do it, apparently immediately, apparently with no questions asked? Who of us would give up everything -- lifestyle, family, source of income -- to work for the kingdom? The desire may be quite strong, but when we consider the cost, when it comes down to the actual choice, most of us determine we could not possibly have understood correctly. We opted for the familiar, doubting the call.
