When Halley's Comet returns to our skies later this year, one of the phenomena you will hear discussed in the media will be zodiacal light. Zodiacal light is a faint glow through the darkness. Sometimes it spreads over the entire sky. Sometimes it mounts up gently in a pyramid form, glimmering in the west after all twilight is gone or in the east before the first rays of dawn.
