The young chemist was at a critical point in her research. Her project had been progressing well over the past several months, but now she had to devote her full attention to it. She had left the laboratory early in the evening, eaten a quick supper, and tried to get to sleep. She was excited about the project and worried about what these next few days would bring. After sleeping for four or five hours this evening, she would have to go back to the laboratory between 1 and 2 a.m. for some critical analysis and additional work.
