I have brought some trash to share with you this morning. What's the matter? You don't want to share my trash? Don't worry, it's clean. Here, you hold this can. (Begin distributing some of the items.) You hold this pizza box, and could you help me with this newspaper? All of these things are trash, but we can do something with this trash to make it usable again. Who knows what we can do? (Children respond. Offer assistance if necessary.) We can recycle much of our trash so it can be remade into something valuable. We have learned that we throw away too much stuff.
