All Praise Be To Our God
Worship
Lectionary Hymns for Cycle B
New Hymns for the Church Year Calendar with Old Familiar Tunes
Object:
1. All praise be to our God,
Bestowing deeds of grace.
Coming, firm stem of Jesse’s rod,
Daily, with warm embrace.
2. Ever a source of joy,
From heaven’s lofty throne,
Great deeds are ever his employ,
Heaped on his very own.
3. Incarnate God, we view,
Jesus, High Priest and King;
Keeping the promise ever true,
Love gifts unto us bring.
4. Majestic are God’s ways;
Noble, the deeds well done.
Our highest joy, to give him praise:
Praise shared by everyone.
5. Quench not the Spirit’s fire.
Resolve, in all you do,
Sustained by faith, the heart’s desire,
Trust God will be with you.
6. United in one Lord,
Victorious he lives,
Wisdom begins with fear of God;
Xyster-like healing gives.
7. Yield heart and mind and soul,
Zealous for God’s ways be.
God’s grace can make the spirit whole,
With peace and liberty.
Epiphany 4/Ordinary Time 4
Based on Psalm 111
May be sung to FRANCONIA, SM 66.86
LBW 22 -- "The Advent Of Our God"
Note: This hymn is presented as an acrostic, conveying the concept from the Hebrew, where the psalm takes on an alphabetic acrostic pattern in which every other verse begins with a successive letter of the alphabet.
