First Lesson Sermons For Sundays After Pentecost (First Third)
Snoopy, of Peanuts comic strip fame, was sitting on his dog house writing another novel. It begins as all of Snoopy's novels begin. "It was a dark and stormy night...." Lucy sees the opening to his novel, goes into a tirade, and berates him. "How silly it is," she said, "for such a beginning. Don't you know that every great story begins, 'Once upon a time....' " In the next frame Snoopy is rewriting the first page and it reads, "Once upon a time, it was a dark and stormy night...." Perhaps you feel that way sometimes?
