Mrs. Claude Douglas of Los Angeles, California, had been downtown and started for home. She felt led to stop in a certain cafeteria for food. Looking for a table, she noticed a Japanese woman sitting alone. She went with her tray and joined the woman, and they were soon engaged in conversation.
Mrs. Douglas learned that the Japanese lady was on a mission from Japan to the United States.
Soon the lady took from her purse a card and said: "I have here a name of a woman in this city, given to me by my friend in Japan, who asked me to see her if possible. There is no street address and I have been unable to find anyone who knows her. Can you help me?"
Mrs. Douglas took the card and saw written there her own name!
A chance meeting of these two women, in a city of 1.5 million people, is incredible. They must have been led to meet. It was Providence at work.
