When a parent says, "You are my child," it makes little difference whether that child is a birth-child, an adopted child, a foster child, or a neighbor child. The messages come through that the child is loved and the nurturer has hope for that child's future. From love, hope is born. As children of God, we are loved by God. God has hope for our future.
