Introduction
Several years ago I rented the video of a classic Broadway musical that I hadn't seen for quite a long time. I enjoyed watching the play by Jay Lerner, Paint Your Wagon. It's a musical comedy adventure story about the gold rush days in California of the last century. You may remember how it depicts the high experiences of finding gold buried in the ground and striking it rich. It depicts the loneliness of some of those hearty pioneer folk, and the sadness of dreams that never come true, despite years of hard work.
