Call To Worship
Leader: Give praise to the Lord, for God's kingdom is at hand!
People: But we long for the glory of days now long since past.
Leader: Seek not the past; for the glory of God's Word is abundant for this day.
People: Can the wonder of tomorrow in Christ be greater than what we once knew?
Leader: There is no limit to the depth and splendor of God's eternal kingdom.
All: Blessed be the name of the Lord!
Collect
Almighty and merciful God, even in our times of sorrow You have blessings yet for us to receive. Lord, help us keep our focus on You so we might see the wonders You have planned for us. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord, we have often found ourselves focused and mournful about what is now past and gone forever as we remain stubbornly unwilling even to consider the great things You have in store for Your faithful. Forgive us, Lord, and soften our hearts so we might realize that the greatness of Your tomorrow may well be beyond all we could have ever dreamed or hoped. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Hymns
"My Hope Is Built"
"Be Still, My Soul"
"Just When I Need Him Most"

Leader: Come, let all who love Christ gather this day for worship and praise!
People: In Christ is our redemption, and we can worship no other god or power.
Leader: Let our very lives proclaim the glory of the Lord for all to see.
People: We must remain true to our faith in the midst of good times or bad.
Leader: The world will know we serve Christ by the joy and love in our souls.
All: Blessed be the name of the Lord!
Collect
O Lord, You have promised always to be with us if we will only remain true to our faith. Give us the courage and strength to stand firm for You, and the wisdom to know Your will daily. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord, far too often in our lives we have compromised our faith when confronted with the everyday pressures of the world around us. We have yielded when standing firm on our faith could have been a powerful witness to those around us. Forgive us, Lord, and touch our hearts daily so that we might stand true and boldly as witnesses for You. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Hymns
"I'll Go Where You Want Me To Go"
"I Would Be True"
"Are Ye Able?"

Gospel: Luke 20:27-38
Theme: God of the living
Call To Worship
Leader: We are called together this day by the living Lord God Almighty:
People: God Who is with us in our coming and our going;
Leader: God Who is with us in our good times and our times of trouble;
People: God Who is with us in both the days and the nights of life.
Leader: Let us give praise to our gracious, merciful and loving God.
All: Blessed be the name of the Lord!
Collect
O God, in the resurrection You gave us the message that You are indeed the God of the living and we need not fear even death itself. We praise You, O Lord, and give You our love. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord, so many times we speak of the resurrection and of eternity but fail to let their reality touch our lives in the way we live. So often we act as if today is all there is, and we fail to show others the true life You came to give us through the cross. Forgive us, Lord, and help us in faith to move beyond the present and to live toward eternity. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Hymns
"Spirit Of The Living God"
"Christ For The World We Sing"
